The GYS PROGYS 180A is a portable, single-phase inverter welding machine designed for MMA (Manual Metal Arc) welding. It is compatible with rutile, stainless steel, cast-iron, and basic electrodes. Before use, ensure the machine is connected to a 230V earthed power supply. Adjust the welding current using the potentiometer and connect the electrode holder and earth clamp according to the electrode's polarity requirements.

Safety Instructions
General: Read and understand all safety recommendations before use. Any unauthorized modification or servicing is prohibited.
Environment: Use only in well-ventilated areas, free from dust, acids, or flammable gases. Maintain operating temperatures between -10°C and +40°C.
Individual Protection: Arc welding can cause serious injury. Wear dry, fireproof, insulating clothing covering the entire body. Use protective gloves and a welding helmet with sufficient protection. Protect others in the area with fireproof curtains.
Fumes and Gas: Ensure adequate ventilation. Welding certain metals (lead, cadmium, zinc, mercury, beryllium) can be toxic; degrease parts before welding.
Fire and Explosion: Keep flammable materials at least 11 meters away. Do not weld near grease or paint. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
Electrical Safety: Connect only to an earthed electrical supply. Do not touch live parts. Disconnect from the mains and wait 2 minutes before opening the device for maintenance.
Installation
Place the machine on a flat surface with a maximum incline of 10°. Ensure sufficient ventilation and easy access to the control panel. The machine is IP21 rated, protecting against solid objects >12.5mm and vertical water drops.
Operation
MMA Welding: Connect the earth clamp and electrode holder to the connectors. Respect the polarity indicated on the electrode packaging. Turn the potentiometer to the desired current to start. The machine features three inverter functions: Hot Start (increases current at start), Arc Force (prevents sticking), and Anti-Sticking (allows easy electrode removal).
Generator Use: The machine can operate with generators provided the auxiliary power is AC, peak voltage is below 400V, and frequency is between 50-60 Hz.
Maintenance
Maintenance should be performed by a qualified person. Annually, or 2-3 times a year, remove the casing and dust the interior with compressed air. Regularly check the power cable condition. Do not use the machine to thaw pipes, charge batteries, or start engines.

Troubleshooting
If the machine does not deliver current, check if the thermal protection has triggered (wait for the cooling cycle). If the machine does not weld despite the green light, check the earth clamp and cable connections. If you feel tingling when touching the body, check the earth connection of your installation.
Technical Specifications
