The Hamilton Beach TrueAir Odor Eliminator is designed for household use to reduce odors. Key maintenance includes replacing the filter every 3 months (depending on use) and the scent cartridge every 30 days. Always ensure the unit is plugged directly into a 120V AC outlet and do not use extension cords or multi-plug adapters.

How to use

1. Open the grill by pulling on the opening tabs.
2. Remove the plastic bag from the filter. Place the filter in the unit, fitting the notched corner of the filter around the notched edge of the unit.
3. Activate the timestrip by pressing the foil bubble and place it in the timestrip slot. Red ink will be time-released.
4. Assemble the scent cartridge and clip (if using) and slide the assembly into the notch on the back of the unit.
5. Close the cover until it snaps into place.
6. Plug the unit into a 120V AC outlet.
7. Slide the switch to ON. The unit works best when plugged within 6 feet of the odor source.

Replacing filter, timestrip, and optional scent cartridge

Filter: Should last up to 3 months. Remove the unit from the outlet, open the cover, remove the used filter, and discard. Install a new filter (use only Hamilton Beach part numbers 04290, 04291, or 04294).

Timestrip: A new timestrip is provided with every new filter. Activate it by pressing the foil bubble and place it in the slot.

Scent Cartridge: Should last up to 30 days. Replace when diminished. Use only Hamilton Beach TrueAir Green Meadow scent cartridges (part number 04600).

Cleaning and maintenance

• Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
• Wipe the exterior housing with a clean, dry cloth.
• Clean the grill with a damp cloth or use a vacuum cleaner to remove lint or debris.
• Do not use detergents, solvents, or spray cleaners.
• Do not immerse the unit in water or other liquids.

Safety instructions

• Do not use outdoors or in unheated areas like garages.
• Do not block air openings; keep clear of drapes and furniture.
• Do not use near cooking areas as an exhaust fan.
• Do not use with solid-state speed control devices or dimmer switches.
• Caution: Scent cartridge gel may irritate eyes or skin. If contact occurs, flush with water for 20 minutes. Do not place the gel side against finished surfaces.
