This document provides installation and maintenance instructions for the Hansgrohe Locarno diverter tub spouts, models 04814XX0 and 04815XX0. Hansgrohe recommends that installation be performed by a licensed, professional plumber.
Important Compatibility Note: Model 04815XX0 is designed for use with a pressure balance valve only. Do not use this model with a thermostatic mixing valve or the Hansgrohe Pressure Balance Valve with 2-Way Diverter.
Installation Considerations
Before beginning, ensure you have all necessary tools and supplies. The installation requires a 1/2" NPT or 3/4" NPT pipe fitting, which must be recessed 3/8" (10 mm) behind the surface of the finished wall.

- Tools Required: Plumber's tape, Allen wrench (7/16" or 8mm depending on the model).
- Preparation: Loosen the screw on the spout and remove the mounting piece.
Installation Steps
The installation process is similar for both 1/2" and 3/4" NPT connections:

- Ensure the pipe fitting is recessed 3/8" (10 mm) behind the finished wall.
- Wrap the threads on the nipple with plumber's tape.
- Install the mounting piece onto the pipe fitting.
- Tighten the mounting piece using the appropriate Allen wrench (7/16" for 04815XX0 or 8mm for 04814XX0).
Sealing and Finishing
Proper sealing is critical to prevent water damage behind the wall.

- Seal the wall around the mounting piece using waterproof sealant.
- Failure to seal the wall may result in water damage.
- Install the spout onto the mounting piece and tighten the screw to secure it.
Cleaning and Maintenance
To maintain the finish and functionality of your Hansgrohe product:
- Clean the product when needed to prevent mineral scale and soap residue buildup.
- Use a cleaning agent specifically intended for the product type.
- Do not use: Cleaners containing hydrochloric acid, formic acid, lye, or acetic acid; abrasive powders, pads, or brushes; steam cleaners; or "no-rinse" cleaning agents.
- Application: Do not spray cleaners directly onto the product. Spray the cleaner onto a soft cloth or sponge, then wipe the product.
- Rinse thoroughly with clear water and polish dry with a soft cloth after cleaning.
Replacement Parts
The manual provides exploded diagrams for both models (04814XX0 and 04815XX0) identifying specific replacement parts and O-rings. Refer to the parts diagram for specific part numbers if maintenance is required.
