Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential installation instructions for the Matchmaster 05MM-WP70/77/78 wall plate. The product is designed for use in 70mm and 90mm wall cavities. Installation must be performed by a suitably qualified electrician or technician. Before starting, ensure all power is switched off at the circuit breaker or fuse and verify that the power is off.

Safety instructions

  • Electrical Safety: Never install components during an electrical storm. Do not touch uninsulated wires or terminals unless the network interface wirings are disconnected.
  • Environment: Do not use this product near water, such as bathtubs, washbasins, sinks, wet basements, or swimming pools. Do not install in wet locations unless specifically designed for such use.
  • Handling: Never push objects into the product openings, as they may contact dangerous voltages.

Installation procedure

  1. Preparation: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test to ensure it is off.
  2. Location Selection: Choose a wall location free from obstructions like timber frames or metal wall straps. If installing near a stud or trimmer, ensure at least 20mm clearance from the edge to allow floating clips to rotate freely. Ensure there is no wall point back-to-back in internal wall locations to maintain sufficient wall depth.
  3. Cutting: Use the provided template to cut a hole in the wall sheeting. Check the wall cavity for obstructions.
  4. Mech Installation: Install your chosen compatible mech (Clipsal 2000 fitting) into the back of the wall plate. Terminate cables as needed or run direct cables through the brush or gland opening.
  5. Mounting: Push the wall plate into the cut-out until it is tight against the wall sheeting.
  6. Finishing: If the wall sheeting is hard, mark the stabilising fins' locations and make minor cuts until the plastic shroud sits firmly against the wall. Secure the wall plate using the preinstalled floating clips on each side.
  7. Cover: Connect the WP7x cover.

Technical requirements

If installing more than one wall plate, ensure they are spaced at least 50mm apart, either vertically or horizontally. The unit is designed specifically for 70mm and 90mm wall cavities.
