This document provides essential installation and operation instructions for the Hansgrohe Talis S2 Variarc kitchen mixer (models 14870XXX and 14875XXX). Safety and Installation
- Safety: Wear gloves during installation to avoid crushing or cutting injuries.
- Pressure: Large pressure differences between hot and cold water supplies must be balanced.
- Appliance Connection: Only dishwashers or washing machines with the DVGW mark may be connected to the appliance valve without additional safety measures. If no appliance is connected, the valve must be plugged.
- Installation: The fitting must be installed, flushed, and tested according to valid norms. Do not use acetic acid-containing silicone.

Hansgrohe mixers can be used with hydraulically and thermally controlled continuous flow heaters if the flow pressure is at least 0.15 MPa.
Operation and Adjustments
The mixer is operated via a single lever. To adjust the hot water limiter, follow the procedure on page 23. Note that if the mixer is used in combination with a continuous flow water heater, the hot water limiter is not necessary.

Common problems
High pressure difference between hot and cold water
The pressure differences must be balanced.
Hot water temperature too high or needs adjustment
Adjust the hot water limiter on the single-lever mixer (see page 23).
Appliance valve not in use
If no dishwasher or washing machine is connected, the valve must be plugged.
Before use
- Ensure hot and cold water pressures are balanced.
- Check that the installation area is clean and prepared.
- Verify that the continuous flow heater (if used) is compatible (min. 0.15 MPa flow pressure).
- Ensure only DVGW-certified appliances are connected to the appliance valve.
- Use appropriate tools (SW 10 mm and SW 19 mm wrenches).
