Device Description
The CV 14DBL and CV 18DBL are cordless multi-tools designed for flush cutting, pocket cutting, peeling tiles, caulking, and polishing wood materials. They feature two operating modes: Standard Mode and AUTO Mode.
Operation Modes
- Standard Mode: Allows manual adjustment of vibration frequency between 6000 and 20000 min-1 using the dial (settings 1–5).
- AUTO Mode: Automatically adjusts vibration frequency (15000 min-1 or 20000 min-1) based on workload to reduce noise and vibration.
Charging
Before using the tool, charge the battery using the specified charger (e.g., UC18YFSL). Connect the charger to a power outlet, insert the battery, and monitor the pilot lamp. A solid red light indicates charging is in progress, while a blinking red light indicates charging is complete.
Maintenance and Inspection
- Application Tool: Replace dull or damaged tools immediately to prevent motor overload.
- Mounting Screws: Regularly inspect and tighten all mounting screws.
- Motor Maintenance: Keep the motor winding clean and free from oil or water.
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use chlorine solvents, gasoline, or paint thinner.

Common problems
Motor stops during operation
This is likely due to the battery protection function. If the battery is nearly empty, charge it. If the tool is overloaded, release the switch, remove the cause of the overload, and resume work. If the battery is overheated, let it cool down.
Pilot lamp on charger does not blink red
Check if the charger is properly connected to the power source. If it still does not blink, the charger's protection circuit may be activated. Unplug for 30 seconds and reconnect. If the issue persists, contact a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.

- Ensure the work area is clean and well-lit.
- Check for hidden electrical wiring, water, or gas pipes in the cutting area.
