Quick guide from the manual

This impact drill is designed for boring holes in hard materials (concrete, marble, granite, tiles) using the combined action of rotation and impact, or in metal, wood, and plastic using rotation only. Always ensure the power source matches the requirements on the product nameplate before use.

Safety Warnings

General Power Tool Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away. Use personal protective equipment, including eye protection. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position before connecting to a power source. Disconnect the plug before making adjustments or changing accessories.

Impact Drill Safety: Wear ear protectors when impact drilling. Use the auxiliary handle provided. Hold the tool by insulated gripping surfaces when performing operations where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring.

Rotational Direction: Use the push button to select clockwise (R) or counterclockwise (L) rotation.

Mode Selection: Use the change lever to switch between IMPACT (rotation and impact) and ROTATION (rotation only). Shift to the right for impact drilling in hard materials and to the left for rotation-only drilling in metal, wood, or plastic.

Speed Change: Ensure the switch is in the OFF position and the drill has stopped. Rotate the gear shift dial to select speed 1 (low) or 2 (high).

Switch Operation: Pull the trigger to start the tool. Use the speed control dial to pre-select the desired speed. A stopper can be used for continuous operation.

Maintenance

Regularly inspect drill bits for abrasion and replace or resharpen them as needed. Check all mounting screws periodically and tighten if loose. Carbon brush inspection and replacement, as well as supply cord replacement, must be performed by a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
