The Hilti DD 150-U is a professional-grade diamond core drilling machine designed for wet and dry drilling in mineral substrates. This guide provides essential information for safe and efficient operation.

Safety Warnings
- Always wear personal protective equipment: Eye protection, hard hat, ear protection, protective gloves, and safety footwear are mandatory.
- Electrical Safety: Always use the supplied PRCD (Portable Residual Current Device). Test the PRCD before each use.
- Drilling Overhead: Use of a water collection system with a wet-type industrial vacuum extractor is mandatory for upward wet drilling.
- Stability: Ensure the drill stand is securely anchored or vacuum-secured to a smooth, clean, non-porous surface.
Setup and Installation

- Securing the Drill Stand: Use Hilti metal expansion anchors (M12 or M16) or a vacuum base plate on suitable surfaces.
- Mounting the Machine: Lock the carriage, mount the hand wheel, engage the interface plate onto the drill stand hook, and tighten the locking pin.
- Water Connection: Connect the water supply to the water swivel/suction head. Ensure water pressure does not exceed 6 bar.
- Core Bit Installation: Ensure the core bit is securely tightened in the chuck. For BI+ tool holders, push and turn until it engages.
Operation
- Hole-Starting Mode: Use this mode for low-vibration starts with large-diameter core bits. It automatically switches off after 2 minutes.
- Continuous Running Lock: Can be used for stand-guided drilling. Never use in hand-guided mode.
- Speed Selection: Select the gear based on the core bit diameter. Turn the gear selector while manually rotating the core bit to ensure it latches.
Maintenance
- Carbon Brushes: The service display indicates when carbon brushes need replacement. Always replace all brushes simultaneously.
- Cleaning: Clean air vents with a dry brush. Do not use silicone-based cleaning agents.
- Storage: Store in a dry place, unplugged, and out of reach of children.
Troubleshooting
- Display blank: Check PRCD, power supply, and ensure no water has entered the motor.
- Restart interlock: Switch the machine off and on again. Check for overload or overheating.
- Core bit jammed: Use an open-end wrench to release the bit or move the carriage up and down if using a drill stand.
