The Hinkley 1504BZ Carson LED Path Light is designed for 12V landscape lighting systems. Ensure you are using Hinkley-approved equipment to prevent premature failure. The installation requires basic wiring skills and proper connection using the provided silicone-filled wirenuts.
Safety Instructions
- The lamp gets hot quickly; do not touch the lens, guard, or enclosure while in operation.
- Keep the lamp away from flammable materials.
- Do not operate the luminaire if the shield is missing or damaged.
- Do not install within 10 feet (3m) of a pool, spa, or fountain.
- Always disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before installation or service.
Installation

- Find a clear area for installation.
- Disconnect the transformer from the power supply.
- Run the wire from the luminaire through the mounting hole in the top of the ground stake.
- Attach the luminaire to the ground stake by threading it until it fits snugly against the bottom of the stem.
- Insert the stake into the ground until the flange is flush with the surface.
- Strip the two wire leads and connect them to the main supply wire using the provided silicone-filled wirenuts.
Wiring
The main secondary wire is intended for shallow burial (less than 6 inches / 15.2cm). Ensure the wire is routed in close proximity to the luminaire or a building structure. The wire should be cut so that it connects to a connector within 6 inches of a building structure or the luminaire.
