Quick Guide
The Hinkley Lakehouse Path Light is designed for 12-volt landscape lighting systems. Before beginning installation, ensure the power is disconnected at the transformer. The main secondary wire is intended for shallow burial (less than 6 inches) and should be routed near the fixture or building structure.
Safety Information
- Voltage: This luminaire is designed exclusively for use with Hinkley-approved 12-volt landscape systems. Connecting to other systems may cause premature failure or unintended operation.
- Electrical Safety: Always disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before installation or service to prevent electrical shock.
Installation
- Find a clear area for installation.
- Run the wire from the luminaire through the mounting hole in the top of the ground stake.
- Attach the luminaire to the ground stake by threading it into the mounting hole until it fits snugly against the bottom of the stem.
- Place the stake in the desired position and insert it into the ground until the flange of the stake is flush with the ground.
Wiring
Strip the two wire leads from the luminaire and connect them to the main supply wire using the provided silicone-filled wirenuts. Note that these silicone-filled nuts are intended for one-time use only. The wire nut capacity is 2 pieces of 18 AWG and 2 pieces of 12 AWG.
Diffuser Assembly
To assemble the diffuser, secure it to the fixture using the three provided screws.

Premature failure or unintended operation
Ensure the fixture is connected only to Hinkley-approved 12-volt landscape systems.
Wire connection failure
Ensure the wire nut capacity is not exceeded (max 2 pcs 18 AWG + 2 pcs 12 AWG) and use the provided silicone-filled wirenuts.
Before use
- Disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply.
- Verify the system is a 12V landscape system.
- Ensure the main secondary wire is buried less than 6 inches deep.
- Check that the wire connection is within 6 inches of a building structure, luminaire, or fitting.
