This document provides installation instructions for the Hinkley 1536LL LED Spot Light. This luminaire is designed exclusively for use with Hinkley-approved 12-volt landscape systems. Connecting to other systems may cause premature failure or improper operation.

Luminaire mounting

Follow these steps for typical ground stake mounting:

1. Safety first: Disconnect the transformer from the electrical supply before beginning any installation or service.
2. Run the wire from the luminaire through the mounting hole located at the top of the ground stake.
3. Attach the luminaire to the ground stake by threading it into the mounting hole until it fits snugly against the bottom of the stem.
4. Place the stake in the desired position and insert it into the ground until the flange of the stake is flush with the ground.
5. Strip the two wire leads from the luminaire and connect them to the main supply wire using the provided silicone-filled wirenuts.

Lamp installation

To install or replace the lamp:

1. Place the spring on the back side of the lamp.
2. Compress the spring and secure the floating socket to the lamp pins.
3. Set the lamp and spring into the base.
4. Place the cowl over the assembly and secure it with the thumb screw.

Wiring requirements

The main low voltage cable must be protected and installed correctly:

• The cable should be routed in close proximity to the luminaire or next to a building structure (e.g., house or deck).
• The main secondary wire is intended for shallow burial, less than 6 inches (15.2 cm).
• Ensure the cable is connected to a connector within 6 inches (15.2 cm) of a building structure, luminaire, or fitting.
