This document provides installation and assembly instructions for the Hinkley Maddox Medium Orb Pendant. Before starting, ensure the power supply is turned off at the circuit breaker. Clear a workspace and verify all parts are present. If you are unfamiliar with electrical wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
Mounting Instructions
Follow these steps to mount the fixture to the ceiling:
- Determine the desired height for the pendant.
- Thread the wire through the stems and assemble them, starting with the longest stem.
- Attach the mounting strap (A) to the junction box (J) using the provided screws.
- Ensure the mounting strap is flush against the ceiling.
- Slip the canopy (C) up against the ceiling and secure it to the mounting strap using the threaded section (L).
Assembly Instructions
Once the fixture is mounted, proceed with the assembly:


- After the stems (M) are assembled, slip the cover (N) over the stems.
- Use the set screw to lock the cover into place.
- Secure the shade (V) to the top cover (N).
- Install an appropriate medium base bulb.
- Hold the glass (1) up and use the three knobs (3) to lock it into place.
- Use the Allen key to secure the set screw (S) to lock the cover into place.
- Restore power to the fixture.
Wiring and Grounding
The fixture must be wired according to the specific mounting type (Flush, Chain, or Post-Mount). Always ensure the power is off before beginning.

- Positive Wire: Connect the positive supply wire (typically black or smooth) to the positive fixture lead (B) using a twist-on connector.
- Negative Wire: Connect the negative supply wire (typically white or ribbed) to the negative fixture lead (D) using a twist-on connector.
- Grounding: Fasten the fixture ground wire (E) to the mounting strap (M) using the ground screw (S) for flush mounts, or connect it to the building system ground for chain-hung fixtures.
