This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of the Hitachi CC 14SE Cut-Off Machine. Before use, ensure the power source matches the nameplate specifications and that the machine is placed on a stable, level surface. Always wear safety glasses and ear protection during operation. Never force the tool; let it cut at its intended rate to avoid motor overload.
Safety precautions
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit.
- Do not use the tool in damp or wet locations or near flammable materials.
- Always use the protective guard.
- Ensure the workpiece is securely fastened with the vise.
- Disconnect the tool from the power supply before maintenance or changing accessories.
- Do not use chipped or defective cutting wheels.
Setup and preparation
Upon unpacking, remove the transport chain by slightly depressing the switch handle. Ensure all mounting screws are tight. Before starting, run the machine at no-load for 30 seconds in a safe position to check for excessive vibration or defects.

Operating instructions

Fixing the material
Place the workpiece between vise (A) and vise (B). Raise the clutch, push the screw handle to bring vise (A) into contact with the material, then turn the clutch down and tighten the screw handle to secure the workpiece.
Cutting at angles
The machine allows for cutting at 0°, 30°, 45°, or 60°. Loosen the two M10 bolts on vise (B), set the desired angle, and securely retighten the bolts. For wide materials, use a steel board to support the workpiece against the vise.
Using the metallic block
As the cut-off wheel wears down, insert a metallic block between the vises to allow the wheel to cut smaller workpieces economically.
Maintenance and inspection

- Replacing the wheel: Ensure the replacement wheel is rated for a peripheral speed exceeding 4800 m/min.
- Carbon brushes: Inspect brushes regularly. If they reach the wear limit, replace both with new ones of the same number.
- Lubrication: Apply oil once a month to the rotary part of the shaft, rotary part of the vise, and the slide way of vise (A).
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe off chips and waste from the machine. Keep the motor portion free from oil and water.
