This document provides installation and safety instructions for the Hoftronic LED Tubes Eco Nano 160LM/W. Before starting, ensure the AC power is disconnected and cannot be unexpectedly reconnected. The installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in compliance with local electrical regulations.
Safety instructions
- Indoor use only: Do not use outdoors.
- Temperature range: Operate between -20°C and 45°C.
- Compatibility: Not suitable for use with dimmers or electronic ballasts (HF/EVSA).
- Emergency lighting: Not suitable for emergency luminaires designed for double-capped fluorescent lamps.
- Modification: If the ballast is removed or bypassed, the luminaire must be permanently marked: "Luminaire modified for LED tube use only. Do not install fluorescent lamps."
Installation methods
Follow the diagram corresponding to your situation:
Standard installation
Direct connection to 230V mains voltage. Warning: Do not connect mains to the "internally shorted" end.
Retrofit magnetic ballast
Remove the existing starter and replace it with the supplied LED starter.
Retrofit electronic ballast
Remove the ballast from the circuit. This modification must only be performed by a trained and certified electrician.

Maintenance and environment

Common problems
Lamp does not turn on or flickers
Verify that the ballast has been correctly removed or bypassed for electronic ballast setups, or that the LED starter is properly installed for magnetic ballast setups.
Incompatible fixture
Ensure the fixture is not an emergency lighting system, as this LED tube is not approved for such use.
