The Knightsbridge GUSPIKER and GUSPIKES are outdoor luminaires designed for spike or wall mounting. They are IP65 rated and require a GU10 lamp (max 35W). These units must be earthed (Class I) and are not suitable for installation in coastal or marine environments.

Safety Information

  • Installation: Must be installed in accordance with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Power: Always isolate the mains supply before installation or maintenance.
  • Circuit Load: Ensure the total load on the circuit does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse, or circuit breaker.

Spike Mounting

  1. Choose a position where the ground is suitable to firmly hold the spike and luminaire.
  2. Ensure the ground is not liable to flooding.
  3. Check that the spike does not infringe with any underground pipes or cables.
  4. The body of the product should not rest directly on the ground.

Wall Mounting

  1. Use the bracket as a template to mark the location for fixing holes.
  2. Drill the holes, ensuring you do not infringe with any gas/water pipes or electrical cables.
  3. Fix the bracket to the surface using suitable fixings (not included).

Wiring

Connect the luminaire to the mains supply ensuring correct polarity:

  • Live: Brown
  • Earth: Green/Yellow
  • Neutral: Blue

The preinstalled cable is for above-ground use only. Cables routed within walls or below ground must be protected by suitable conduit or trunking.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Clean external surfaces with a damp cloth using a mild solution of detergent and warm water only.
  • Do not use aggressive cleaning products, solvents, or high-pressure washers.
  • The product is dimmable depending on the lamp type used.
  • Recycle the product in the correct manner when it reaches the end of its life.
