This manual provides instructions for the MAUL 1712509.100-SW parcel scale. Ensure the scale is placed on a flat, horizontal surface before use. The device features an automatic switch-off function after 3 minutes of inactivity.
Battery installation
The scale requires two 1.5V AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale and insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity as marked.
Weighing operation
- Standard weighing: Turn on the scale using the TARE ON/OFF button. Wait until all segments appear and the display shows zero. Place the item on the scale and read the weight.
- TARE function (add-on weighing): Place an empty container on the scale and press the TARE ON/OFF button to reset the display to zero. Add the item to the container; the scale will display only the net weight of the added item.
Unit switching
You can switch between kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb). With the scale turned on, press the mode button located on the underside of the scale to toggle between units.
User calibration
If necessary, the scale can be recalibrated:
- Turn on the scale and set it to 'kg'.
- Press the mode button four times in quick succession and hold it. A numerical value will appear.
- Press the mode button again and place the scale on a flat, stable surface. The display will show a value and then '0000'.
- Place the first calibration weight (10kg for 25kg-scale, 25kg for 50kg-scale, or 50kg for 100kg-scale) on the scale. The display will show 'CAL1'.
- Place the second calibration weight (20kg for 25kg-scale, 50kg for 50kg-scale, or 100kg for 100kg-scale) on the scale. The display will show 'CAL2' and then the final weight value.
Important: Do not expose the scale to vibrations or air currents during the calibration process.
Troubleshooting and special signs
- FULL: The weight on the scale exceeds the maximum capacity.
- Battery icon: The batteries are exhausted and need to be replaced.
- Inaccurate readings: May be caused by extreme electromagnetic interference (e.g., radio units nearby). Move the scale away from the source of interference.

The scale complies with EU Directive 2014/31/EU. The tolerance is ± 0.5% ± 1 digit within a temperature range of +5°C to +35°C. This device is not intended for legal trade use.
