This document provides instructions for installing the Minka Lavery 2001/2002-77-L bath vanity light. The most critical safety step is to ensure the power is completely shut off at the fuse box or circuit breaker before beginning any work. The fixture is compatible with ELV and LED-compatible wall dimmer switches.
Mounting the fixture
- Shut off power at the fuse box or circuit breaker box and remove the old fixture.
- Unpack the new fixture and organize all parts.
- Loosen screws (D) to remove the mounting plate (A) from the fixture body (C).
- Attach the mounting plate (A) to the junction box using the provided mounting screws (B). Ensure the side of the mounting plate marked "GND" faces outward.
Connecting the wires
Follow the wiring diagram carefully to ensure all connections are secure:
- Black or Smooth fixture wire: Connect to the Black (Hot) house wire.
- White or Ribbed fixture wire: Connect to the White (Neutral) house wire.
- Green or Bare Copper fixture wire: Connect to the Green (Ground) house wire. If the junction box does not have a ground wire, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the mounting plate (A) using the provided green screw.
- After connecting, tuck all wires carefully inside the junction box.
Finishing the installation
- Place the fixture body (C) over the mounting plate (A) and secure it using screws (D).
- Slide screws (E) through the plastic gaskets (F) and the glass shade (G), then secure them onto the heat sink (H).
- Once installed, restore power and test the fixture.
