Quick Installation Guide

This document provides instructions for installing Minka Lavery light fixture models 3982, 3983, and 3984-613. Before beginning, ensure the power is completely shut off at the fuse box or circuit breaker. Verify that all parts listed in the illustration are present in the carton.

Mounting the Fixture

  1. Shut off the power supply at the fuse box or circuit breaker. Remove the old fixture if necessary.
  2. Attach the mounting plate (E) to the outlet box using the provided outlet box screws (F). Ensure the side of the mounting plate marked “GND” is facing outward.
  3. Attach the fixture wall plate (G) over the mounting plate (E) and secure it tightly using the screws (D).

Connecting the Wires

Follow these steps to ensure a safe electrical connection:

  • Connect the fixture wires as shown in the wiring diagram (Fig. 2).
  • If your outlet box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture’s ground wire to it.
  • If there is no ground wire in the outlet box, connect the fixture’s ground wire directly to the mounting strap using the provided green screw.
  • Ensure all wire connectors are secured and tuck the connections neatly into the wall outlet box.

Final Assembly

  1. Place the glass shade (B) over the socket (C).
  2. Secure the shade in place using the socket ring (A).
  3. Install the light bulb according to the fixture’s specifications. Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating indicated on the fixture.
  4. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.

Fixture does not turn on after installation

Verify that the power is turned on at the circuit breaker and check that all wire connections are secure and properly matched.

Glass shade is loose

Ensure the socket ring (A) is tightened securely over the socket (C) to hold the glass shade (B) in place.
