This guide provides instructions for installing the Minka Lavery 10315-855 1-Light Pendant. For safety, ensure the power is completely shut off at the circuit breaker before beginning any work. It is recommended that the fixture be installed by a qualified electrician.
Installation Steps
- Preparation: Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting hardware.
- Assembly: Thread the decorative rods (H) into the fixture body (I).
- Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate (B) to the junction box (not included) using the provided mounting screws (C). Ensure the side of the mounting plate marked "GND" faces outward.
- Adjustment: Adjust the wire to the desired hanging length using the small screw located on the side of the wire grip (G) with the provided Allen wrench.
- Wiring: Connect the electrical wires as detailed in the wiring section.
- Canopy Attachment: Place the canopy (D) onto the mounting plate (B) and secure it using the mounting screws (F).
- Finalizing: Install one medium base bulb (J) up to 60 watts (or CFL/LED equivalent). Do not exceed the maximum wattage rating.
Wiring Instructions
Ensure all wire connectors are secure. Connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires as follows:
- Black (Fixture) to Black (House/Hot)
- White (Fixture) to White (House/Neutral)
- Bare Copper (Fixture) to Green (House/Ground)
If your outlet does not have a ground wire, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the mounting plate (B) using the provided green screw.
