The Drayton Digistat 2290B is a 3rd generation programmable room thermostat designed for 24-hour, 5-2 day, or 7-day scheduling. It features a real-time clock that automatically adjusts for summer/winter time changes. The device is suitable for basic boilers, combi boilers, and zone valve applications.
Installation
Warning: If you do not have the knowledge to install the thermostat safely, you must arrange for a competent electrician to install it for you. Ensure the mains supply is switched off before starting.

- Remove Cover: Release the 2 screws at the bottom of the unit to remove the front cover.
- Mounting: Fix the back plate directly onto the wall using suitable wall plugs and screws, or mount it over an existing wall box.
- Wiring: Complete the wiring according to the connection suggestions. For basic and combi boilers, battery or mains supply is suitable. For electric heat applications, use mains supply only.
- Battery Installation: Slide the battery cover at the bottom downwards and install the 2 provided AA batteries.
- Final Assembly: Close the black hinged terminal cover, replace the front cover by locating the two latches at the top, and fasten the 2 screws at the bottom.
General Operation
The thermostat offers temperature control day and night. In Auto Mode (calendar icon visible), you can temporarily change the temperature using the + and - buttons. The new temperature will flash on the screen and remain set until the next pre-programmed event.
Programming
The Digistat comes with pre-programmed settings suitable for a typical 9-5 schedule. To adjust times and temperatures:
- In Auto Mode, press the settings button once.
- Use + and - to select the day or set of days. Press O to confirm.
- Adjust the start time using + and - and press O to confirm.
- Adjust the temperature using + and - and press O to confirm.
- Repeat for subsequent periods. Press O when 'SAVE' is flashing to save the schedule.
Installer Options
To access the Installer Options menu, press the settings button for 3 seconds. Use + and - to scroll to 'Installer Options' and press O to select. Common options include:

- Partial Sight Assistant: Audible tones for setpoint adjustments.
- Frost Protection: Switches heating on if the temperature falls to 5°C.
- Minimum/Maximum Setpoint Limits: Restricts the temperature range.
- Optimum Start: Adjusts the thermostat early so the ambient temperature is at the required level when the event starts.
- Valve Protection Time: Ensures relay output is operated for at least 1 minute each week.
- Sensor Fault Function: Reduces heating output to 30% in case of a sensor fault.
- Installer Settings Lock: Allows locking the menu with a 3-digit code.
- Reset: Restores factory settings (Service Interval settings are not reset).

Common problems
Check if the setpoint is higher than the current room temperature. Ensure the unit is in the correct mode and wiring is correct.
The menu is locked with a 3-digit code. If forgotten, contact the Technical Helpline.
The clock is pre-set at the factory and automatically adjusts for GMT/BST changes; manual adjustment is not required.
