This document provides essential safety, regulatory, and usage information for the Seagate Expansion Desktop Drive. Key points include:

Connection

Connect the drive to your computer using the provided cable. If your computer uses a USB-C port, you must use a micro-B to USB-C cable, which is not included with the drive.

Mac Usage and Time Machine

The drive comes preformatted in exFAT, which allows it to work with both Windows and macOS. If you intend to use the drive with Apple Time Machine, you must reformat the drive specifically for Mac. Warning: Reformatting the drive will erase all data currently stored on it. Ensure you have backed up any important files before proceeding.

Safe Removal

To prevent data corruption or loss, always use the "Safely Remove Hardware" or "Eject" function provided by your operating system before physically disconnecting the USB cable from your computer.
