The Sealey AB1008.V4 is a direct-fired space heater designed for outdoor open areas or well-ventilated indoor spaces. It operates on kerosene or diesel. Important: Never use this heater in closed rooms, living areas, basements, or below ground level. Always ensure adequate ventilation and keep the unit away from flammable materials.
Product Overview
This heater features a 100,000 BTU/hr (30kW) heat output, a 38L fuel tank, and a stainless steel combustion chamber. It includes a dual LED display for ambient and thermostat-controlled temperatures, safety cut-outs, and a fuel gauge.
Assembly
Follow these steps to assemble the heater:

- Insert the wheel shaft (E) into the caster fixing plate (J).
- Insert the cotter (I) into the holes of the wheel shaft.
- Place plain washers (F) on both sides of the shaft, slide the wheels (D) on, and secure with nuts (G).
- Install the wheel covers (H).
- Use the clamping screw (C) and plain washer (B) to attach the handle (A) to the caster fixing plate (J).
Installation and Ventilation
Position the heater on a flat, level, non-flammable surface. For indoor use, you must provide permanent ventilation openings of at least 25 cm²/kW, with a minimum of 250 cm² total. Maintain the following minimum safety clearances: 0.6m at the sides, 1.2m at the top, 1m at the air inlet, and 3m at the hot air outlet.
Operation
Start-up: Fill the tank with clean kerosene or diesel. Connect to a 230V~50Hz earthed supply. Switch the power to 'ON'. The default temperature is 20°C. If the ambient temperature is lower, the heater will ignite after 7 seconds.

Shut Down: Move the switch to 'OFF'. Never disconnect the heater from the mains while it is running; allow the cooling sequence to complete to prevent damage to internal components.
Maintenance
Maintenance should be performed by qualified personnel. Key tasks include:

- Nozzle: Unscrew and blow compressed air through the orifice to clean.
- Air Filters: Wash the air intake filter with light detergent and replace the air delivery filter annually.
- Ignition Electrodes: Clean and adjust the gap as specified in the manual.
- Compressor Pressure: Factory set at 0.31 bar for model AB1008. Check only with a pressure gauge.
Troubleshooting
The heater features an LED display for error codes:
- E1: Indicates lockout due to overheating, flame failure, or airflow issues. Check air inlet/outlet and fuel supply.
- E2: Temperature probe fault.
- LC: Lockout after 3 failed ignition attempts. Reset by switching the power switch to ON 3 times within 10 seconds.
