The Secure C-Stat 11-M is a mains-operated programmable room thermostat. Installation must be performed by a qualified person in accordance with current IEE wiring regulations. Always isolate the mains supply before beginning any installation work.
Positioning and installation
For optimal performance, the thermostat should be mounted on an internal wall approximately 1.5 metres from the floor. Ensure the location is away from draughts, direct heat sources, and direct sunlight. A total clearance of at least 50mm around the unit is required for proper installation and access.

- Wall plate: Remove the wall plate by undoing the two retaining screws on the underside.
- Mounting: The wall plate can be mounted directly to a single gang steel flush wiring box (BS4662) using two M3.5 screws. It is suitable for flat surfaces only and must not be positioned on an unearthed metal surface.
- Fitting: Once the wall plate is secured, swing the C-Stat into position by engaging the top lugs, then push firmly into the terminal block and tighten the two captive screws.
Electrical connections
The unit is mains powered and requires a 3 Amp fused spur. The recommended cable size is 1.0mm². The device is double insulated and does not require an earth connection, though an earth block is provided for terminating cable earth conductors.

Installer settings
Access the 'SET UP MENU' to configure the following parameters during installation:
- Clock Format: AM/PM or 24-hour display.
- Daylight Saving: On/Off (Default: On for UK).
- Standby Temperature: Frost protection setting (Default: 5°C).
- Temperature Limits: Upper and lower limits (Default: 30°C and 5°C).
- LC Cycles: Adjust based on heating type: Gas boilers (6 cycles/hour), Oil boilers (3 cycles/hour), Electric heating (12 cycles/hour).
- Optimum Start: On/Off (Default: Off).
Troubleshooting and reset
If the display becomes frozen or scrambled due to electrical interference, you can perform a factory reset. Press the BACK and ENTER buttons simultaneously to restore the unit to original factory settings while retaining the correct time and date.
