Attaching and detaching the lens

To attach:

  1. Remove the rear lens cap and the camera body cap.
  2. Align the white index on the lens barrel with the white index on the camera (mounting index).
  3. Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise until it locks.
  4. Remove the front lens cap.

To detach:

  1. Attach the front lens cap.
  2. Hold down the lens release button on the camera.
  3. Rotate the lens counterclockwise until it stops, then detach the lens.

Focusing

You can switch between Auto Focus (AF) and Manual Focus (MF) using the focus mode switch on the lens. For AF photography, ensure both the camera and lens are set to AF. In MF mode, turn the focusing ring to adjust the focus while looking through the viewfinder.

Adjusting the aperture

The aperture ring allows manual adjustment between f/1.4 and f/16. Aligning the ring to 'A' sets the camera to auto iris mode. You can lock the aperture ring at 'A' or limit the rotation range using the IRIS LOCK switch. For movie recording, set the aperture click switch to 'OFF' to reduce the sound of the aperture ring during adjustment.

Notes on use

  • Sunlight: Do not leave the lens exposed to the sun or bright light sources to prevent internal damage or fire.
  • Rattling: If the lens rattles when shaken while the camera is off, this is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
  • Vignetting: If corners of the screen appear dark, close the aperture by 1 to 2 stops.
  • Water-proof: The lens is not waterproof; keep water drops away from the lens.
