Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential instructions for the installation and initial configuration of the Speco Technologies 04VBIN network camera. It covers physical mounting, network cable connection, and accessing the web-based management interface.

Safety and Environment

  • Install in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the mounting surface can support three times the weight of the camera.
  • Use only a certified 12VDC Class 2 power supply or PoE. Do not connect both simultaneously.
  • The device must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not expose the camera to electromagnetic radiation or allow liquid intrusion.

  3. Secure the mounting base to the wall or ceiling using the provided screws and anchors.
  4. Loosen the fixed ring to adjust the camera angle (Pan 360°, Tilt 80°) and tighten it once the desired view is achieved.

Network Connection and Web Operation

The camera is set to DHCP by default. To access the web interface:

  • Ensure the camera and PC are on the same local network.
  • Use the IP Scanner tool (available on the included CD or at www.specotech.com/ip-scanner) to locate the camera's IP address.
  • Enter the IP address into a web browser.
  • Default login credentials: Username: admin, Password: 1234.

Maintenance

  • Always power off and unplug the device before maintenance.
  • Clean the enclosure with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Use a blower to remove dust from the lens. For grease or fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth soaked in alcohol or detergent, wiping from the center outward.
