Quick Start Guide

This guide provides essential instructions for setting up the Speco Technologies O4B9 network camera. The camera is set to DHCP by default. Ensure the camera and your PC are connected to the same local network to perform the initial configuration.

Safety and Maintenance

  • Electrical Safety: Use only a certified 12VDC Class 2 power supply. Do not connect two power sources simultaneously. The device must be grounded.
  • Environment: Do not install near heat sources, power lines, or radar equipment. Ensure the installation environment is within the specified temperature and humidity range.
  • Maintenance: Always shut down and unplug the device before maintenance. Clean the enclosure with a dry, soft cloth. Use a blower for the lens; for grease or fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth with alcohol or detergent, wiping from the center outward.

  1. Open the mounting base and the upper cover of the junction box.
  2. Attach the drill template to the desired location and drill the necessary screw and cable holes.
  3. Install the junction box onto the wall using the provided screws.
  4. Fasten the camera onto the mounting base.
  5. Connect the cables and install the camera onto the junction box.
  6. Loosen the fixed ring to adjust the view angle (Pan 360°, Tilt 80°), then tighten the ring to secure the position.

Network Cable Connection

For outdoor installations, it is recommended to install the security cap. If using a PoE switch or injector, a separate 12V power supply is not required.

  1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
  2. Run the network cable (without RJ45 connector) through the elements.
  3. Crimp the cable with an RJ45 connector.
  4. Connect the cable to the water-proof connector, then tighten the nut and the main cover.

Web Operation and Login

  1. Ensure the camera and PC are on the same network.
  2. Install the IP Scanner from the provided CD or download it from www.specotech.com/ip-scanner/.
  3. Run the IP Scanner to find the camera's IP address.
  4. Double-click the device in the list or enter the IP address into a web browser.
  5. Log in using the default credentials: Username: admin, Password: 1234. Follow prompts to install any required plugins.

Common problems

Camera does not power on

Ensure you are using a certified 12VDC Class 2 power supply or a PoE switch/injector. Do not connect both power sources at the same time.

Cannot access the camera via web browser

Verify that the camera and PC are on the same local network. Use the IP Scanner tool to identify the camera's current IP address.

Dirt or grease on the lens

Use an oil-free soft brush or hair dryer for dust. For grease or fingerprints, use an oil-free cotton cloth with alcohol or detergent, wiping from the center outward.
