The Tchibo Coffee Grinder 622 316 is designed for household use to grind fresh coffee beans. It features a built-in scale for precise dosing and adjustable grinding degrees. Before first use, clean the appliance to remove production residues. Always ensure the coffee bean container is locked into place, as a safety switch prevents operation if it is not mounted correctly.

Safety warnings
- Intended use: For household quantities of coffee beans only. Not for commercial use.
- Electricity: Never immerse the appliance or plug in water. Disconnect before cleaning.
- Operation: Do not leave unattended while in use. Do not let the grinding mill run empty.
- Overheating: The appliance is designed for short-time operation (max 2 minutes). Allow to cool for 10 minutes after use.
Setting the grinding degree
The grinding degree is adjusted via the ring on the machine. Set the degree before pouring in beans to prevent jamming.

- 1–6: Fine powder (suitable for espresso).
- 6–14: Medium-fine powder (suitable for filter coffee).
- 16–26: Coarse powder (suitable for French press/cafetière).
Turn the coffee bean container until the desired number aligns with the marking on the casing.
Grinding coffee
The grinder offers three modes:
- According to the number of cups: Press MENU until the cup symbol appears. Use + or - to select the number of cups (up to 12). Press the Start-Stop button.
- According to weight: Press MENU until the weight (grams) appears. Use + or - to select the weight (3–100g). Press the Start-Stop button.
- Manually: Press MENU until the portafilter symbol appears. Press Start-Stop to begin and press again to stop (max 60 seconds).
Always press TARE before grinding to calibrate the scales to the gathering container.
Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.



- Gathering container: Remove and wash in warm water with mild detergent.
- Coffee bean container: Press the release button on the grinding degree ring and twist anticlockwise to remove. Clean and dry completely before refilling.
- Grinding mill: Fold up the handle on the funnel, turn anticlockwise to unlock, and remove. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove residues.
Troubleshooting
- Appliance not working: Check if plugged in, container is locked, or if 'Err' is displayed.
- Err message: Usually indicates the bean container is empty or the scales need resetting. Add beans or press TARE.
- Appliance stops unexpectedly: Check for foreign bodies or overheating (E01). If overheated, let cool for 1 hour.
