The VonShef Smokeless Grill is designed for indoor, domestic use. To ensure optimal performance and safety, always add water to the drip tray before use to minimize fat splatters. Before cooking, condition the grill plate with a small amount of vegetable oil. Always use the fan feature during operation to prevent smoke buildup. Never immerse the heating elements in water.

Product assembly

Follow these steps to assemble the grill:

1. Place the Main Unit on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
2. Insert the Water/Oil Collection Tray into the main unit and fill the bottom with enough water to cover the base.
3. Attach the Heat Insulation Plate, ensuring arrows face the larger opening of the main unit.
4. Fix the Heating Elements into the main unit, ensuring the control panel sits securely and makes contact with the trigger switches.
5. Lower the Grill Plate onto the heating elements using the handles.

Control panel operation

The control panel allows for precise cooking adjustments:

• Power Button: Press once to switch the appliance on or off.
• Temperature Adjust: Use the adjustment arrows to increase or decrease the temperature. Indicator lights will illuminate with each press.
• Fan Activation: Press to activate the fan. It is recommended to use the fan during operation to reduce smoke.

Cooking and operation

Before switching on, ensure the grill plate is conditioned with vegetable oil. Connect the power cord and press the power button. Allow the plate to heat up before adding food. Use wooden or silicone tongs to handle food; do not use sharp metal utensils as they will damage the non-stick surface. Do not overload the grill plate to ensure even cooking.

Cleaning and maintenance

Always disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

• Remove the grill plate using the handles.
• Remove the drip tray, empty contents, and soak in warm soapy water.
• Clean the grill plate and heat insulation plate with a non-abrasive sponge and mild detergent.
• Warning: Never immerse the heating elements or thermostat in water or any other liquid. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials.

Safety precautions

Do not use the appliance outdoors or for commercial purposes. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces and do not let it hang over table edges. Do not leave the appliance unattended while plugged in. If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified engineer.
