Installation Guide for Wayfair 2090-WSC Wall Mounted Light Fixture

This document provides essential instructions for installing the Wayfair 2090-WSC wall-mounted light fixture. Important: All installation work must be performed by an accredited professional. Always shut off the power supply at the fuse or circuit breaker before beginning any work.

Safety and Preparation

Before starting the installation, ensure you have the necessary tools and an assistant to help support the fixture's weight. Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and locate the yellow bag containing all parts. Ensure you use only the specified bulbs and do not exceed the maximum wattage.

Wiring Instructions

Proper wiring is critical for safety. Refer to the wiring diagram in the manual to connect the fixture wires to the house supply wires:

• Hot Wire: Smooth, black, or transparent with black inner thread.
• Neutral Wire: Ribbed, white, or transparent with white inner thread.
• Ground Wire: Copper, bare metal, green, or transparent with green inner thread.

Twist the ends of the wire pairs together in the same direction and secure them with a wire connector. If there is no house ground wire, attach the fixture's ground wire to the ground screw (E) on the mounting bracket.

Installation Steps

1. Prepare: Remove the old fixture and mounting strap. Attach the mounting bracket (A) to the junction box using mounting screws (B). Ensure the bracket is level and parallel to the floor.
2. Wiring: Connect the fixture wires to the house wires as described in the wiring section. Tuck the wires into the junction box.
3. Mounting: Place the backplate (D) over the mounting bracket (A) and secure it using the small screws (C).
4. Finishing: Install the appropriate light bulb into the socket (F). Place the glass shade (G) over the cap (H) of the lamp body.
5. Testing: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker and test the fixture.

General Lighting Guidelines

For optimal lighting, consider the following placement tips:

• Kitchen Islands: Center linear pendants over the island. Use one pendant for every 24 inches of island length. Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the countertop.
• Dining Tables: Fixtures should hang at least 30 inches above the table. Use a fixture that is 12 inches narrower than the width of the table.
• Open Areas: The bottom of the fixture should hang at least 7.5 feet from the floor. Ensure there is clearance for any opening doors.
