This guide is intended for planning the installation of Whirlpool 24-inch dishwashers. It provides the necessary dimensions for the appliance and the cabinet opening, as well as requirements for utility connections. Always refer to the full installation instructions packed with the product for complete details.
Product Dimensions
The dishwasher has the following approximate dimensions:

- Width: 23 7/8" (60.6 cm)
- Height (to top of handle): 31 9/16" (80.1 cm)
- Height (recessed, minimum): 33 5/8" (85.4 cm)
- Depth (without door): 22 5/8" (57.5 cm)
- Depth (with towel bar handle): 26 1/2" (67.3 cm)
- Depth (with pocket handle): 24 1/2" (62.2 cm)
- Depth (door fully open): 50 3/16" (127.4 cm)
Note: The dishwasher can be raised 1 7/16" (3.7 cm) with the feet fully extended.
Opening and Clearance Requirements
Ensure the cabinet opening is prepared correctly:

- Minimum Height: 33 5/8" (85.4 cm). This can be reduced by removing the feet and the perforated area of the insulation blanket.
- Minimum Width: 24" (62.0 cm).
- Clearance: Ensure there are no protrusions that would prohibit installation.
- Corner Installations: Require a minimum 2" (5.1 cm) clearance between the side of the dishwasher door and the wall or cabinet.
Drain Requirements

- A new drain hose is supplied. If a replacement is needed, the maximum length is 12 ft (3.7 m).
- The drain hose must be connected to a waste tee or disposer inlet above the drain trap and at least 20" (50.8 cm) above the floor.
- If the connection is lower than 20" above the floor, an air gap must be used.
Water Supply Requirements
- Pressure: 20 psi to 120 psi (138 kPa to 862 kPa).
- Temperature: 120°F (49°C) at the dishwasher.
- Connection: 3/8" (0.95 cm) O.D. copper tubing or flexible braided water supply line.
- Do not solder within 6" (15.2 cm) of the water inlet valve.
Electrical Requirements
- Supply: 120 V, 60 Hz, AC only.
- Circuit: 15 A or 20 A fused electrical supply.
- Wiring: Copper wire only.
- The dishwasher must be plugged into a grounded 3-prong outlet or hardwired according to local codes.

Practical help
Common problems
Verify the opening is at least 24" wide and 33 5/8" high. If height is an issue, you may remove the feet and the perforated insulation blanket section.
Use a new drain hose with a maximum length of 12 ft (3.7 m) that meets AHAM/IAPMO standards.
Ensure the supply line is 3/8" O.D. copper or flexible braided line. Do not use plastic tubing of 1/2" minimum.
Before use
- Measure cabinet opening width (min 24") and height (min 33 5/8").
- Ensure hot water supply line is available with 20-120 psi pressure.
- Confirm 120V, 60Hz, 15A/20A electrical circuit is available.
- Check that drain hose can be routed above the drain trap (min 20" above floor).
- Verify no protrusions in the cabinet space.
