This document provides essential instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Whirlpool AKR 504 IX range hood. Always follow safety guidelines, including disconnecting the power supply before any maintenance and wearing work gloves during installation.

Installation
The hood must be installed by qualified personnel. Ensure the following conditions are met:
- Minimum distance: At least 50cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers.
- Handling: The appliance is heavy and should be handled by at least two people.
- Electrical connection: Ensure the mains voltage matches the rating on the internal identification plate. If hardwired, use a double-pole switch.
- Ducting: Use a duct of the minimum necessary length with as few elbows as possible (max 90°).
Operation
The control panel features the following functions:

- Motor ON/OFF: Switches the motor on or off.
- Speed Selection: Increases or decreases extraction speed. Includes minimum, medium, maximum, and intensive settings. The intensive speed is timed for 5 minutes before reverting to medium.
- Light ON/OFF: Controls the cooking area lighting.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for safety and performance:

- Grease Filters: Clean at least once a month using non-aggressive detergents, either by hand or in a dishwasher on a short, low-temperature cycle. Pull the spring release handle to remove.
- Charcoal Filters: Replace at least every four months. These cannot be washed or regenerated.
- Cleaning: Use only a cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive tools or alcohol.
- Lighting: The LED lighting system cannot be replaced by the user; contact technical service in case of malfunction.
Troubleshooting
If the hood is not working, check the following before calling technical service:
- Hood not working: Ensure power is connected and a speed is selected.
- Inefficient performance: Check if the motor speed is sufficient, the kitchen is well-ventilated, and the charcoal filter is not saturated.
- Hood turns off: Check for power interruptions or if the omnipolar disconnection device has tripped.
If issues persist, disconnect the power supply for 5 seconds, then reconnect and try again.
