Important Safety Information
Before beginning the installation, you must shut off the power at the fuse or circuit breaker box. Always consult local electrical codes regarding wiring and grounding requirements to ensure a safe installation.
Installation Preparation
Carefully unpack the fixture and lay out all parts in a clear area. Ensure you do not lose any small hardware components. The fixture includes 8 pipes to allow for adjustable hanging heights; measure and determine the correct number of pipes required for your space before assembly.
Assembly and Wiring Steps
1. Mounting Plate Installation: Thread the two mounting screws into the pre-drilled holes in the mounting plate. Attach the plate to the outlet box using the outlet box screws. Ensure the side of the mounting plate marked "GND" faces outward.
2. Pipe Assembly: Feed the wires from the lamp holder through the pipe, frame, and additional pipes. Connect the pipe to the thread nipple from the lamp holder, then connect all pipes and the canopy together until secure.
3. Wiring Connections: Connect the fixture wires to the supply wires using wire nuts:
- Ground: Attach the fixture ground wire to the supply ground wire or to the mounting plate using the green ground screw.
- White Wire: Attach the fixture white wire to the supply white wire or ridge wire.
- Black Wire: Attach the fixture black wire to the supply black wire or smooth wire.
Ensure all wire connectors are secure and cannot be pulled off with a slight tug. Tuck the wires carefully inside the outlet box.
Finalizing Installation
Raise the canopy to the outlet box, align the screws on the mounting plate with the holes in the canopy, and lock it securely with the finials. Install the light bulbs (not included) according to the fixture's specifications, ensuring you do not exceed the maximum wattage rating. Finally, raise the glass sheet to the frame side and use the handle screws to secure the glass sheet and plastic shim onto the frame. Note: Do not overtighten the handle screws.
