Quick guide from the manual
This document provides instructions for the installation and safe operation of the Z-Lite 2307-1S series wall light. It covers the necessary steps for mounting the fixture, wiring it to your home electrical system, and basic maintenance.
Safety warnings
- Always turn off electricity at the fuse or circuit breaker before starting any work.
- Do not install the fixture on ceilings that contain radiant type heating systems.
- Do not attach the fixture directly to the outlet box.
- Ensure the bulb does not exceed the maximum capacity recommended on the socket.
Installation steps

- Prepare: Remove the fixture from the carton and verify all parts are present.
- Mounting: Secure the crossbar (A) to the outlet box using the provided outlet box screws (C).
- Grounding: Insert the green grounding screw into the hole with two raised dimples on the crossbar. Wrap the fixture ground wire around the screw and connect it to the outlet box ground wire using a wire connector.
- Wiring: Identify your fixture wire group (A or B) and connect it to the corresponding house wire (Black or White) using wire connectors. Do not twist wires together before using connectors.
- Final Assembly: After connections are secure, tuck wires inside the outlet box. Raise the backplate (H) to the crossbar (A) and tighten with the cap finial (G).
Wiring instructions
Identify the wire type on your fixture to ensure correct connection:
- Group A (Connect to Black House Wire): Black wire, Parallel wire (round & smooth), White or Grey with tracer, or Brown/Gold/Black without tracer.
- Group B (Connect to White House Wire): White wire, Parallel wire (square & ridged), White or Grey without tracer, or Brown/Gold/Black with tracer.
Note: When using parallel wire (SPT-1 & SPT-2), the tracer wire is square-shaped or ridged, while the wire without a tracer is round or smooth.
Cleaning and maintenance
To clean the fixture, wipe it with a soft cloth. Clean the glass components using a mild soap. Do not use abrasive materials such as scouring pads, powders, steel wool, or abrasive paper.
