Quick Guide
The AcuRite 00648SB1 is a digital cooking thermometer and timer designed for BBQ or oven use. To get started, install two AAA alkaline batteries, slide the power switch to ON, and use the MODE button to toggle between clock and timer functions. Ensure the alarm switch is set to ON when monitoring target temperatures.
Device Overview
The device features a 3-line LCD display showing cook temperature, set temperature, and timer status. It includes a high-temperature probe with a 3-foot cord capable of withstanding up to 700°F (371°C).
Setup and Battery Installation
To install batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Install 2 AAA (1.5v) alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as shown in the diagram.
- Slide the POWER SWITCH to the ON position.
Clock and Thermometer Settings
To set the clock:
- Press the MODE button to enter clock display mode.
- Hold the MODE button until the time display flashes.
- Use the +HR and -MIN buttons to adjust the time.
- Press MODE to confirm.
- Press HR to toggle between 12 and 24-hour formats.
- Press -MIN to toggle between °C and °F temperature display.

- Slide the alarm on/off switch to ON. The alarm will sound when the probe reaches the target temperature.
Using the Timer
- Press MODE to select TIMER.
- Use +HR and -MIN to set the countdown time.
- Press START/STOP to begin or pause the timer.
- The unit will beep when the countdown reaches zero.
- To reset: Stop the timer first, then press +HR and -MIN simultaneously.

- Beef (Medium): 160°F

Safety and Maintenance
Battery Safety:
- Follow polarity (+/-) diagrams.
