This document provides instructions for setting up and operating the AcuRite 00611A3 wireless thermometer. Before first use, remove the protective film from the LCD screen. The system consists of a display unit and an outdoor sensor. Proper placement and battery selection are critical for accurate performance.

Setup
The device requires 2 x AA alkaline batteries for both the display unit and the outdoor sensor. For outdoor temperatures below -4°F (-20°C), use lithium batteries in the outdoor sensor to ensure proper function. To install batteries, slide off the battery compartment cover, insert batteries according to the polarity (+/-) diagram, and replace the cover. You can toggle between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) using the button on the back of the display unit.

Placement Guidelines
For maximum accuracy, follow these placement rules:
- Keep both units out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources or vents.
- The display unit and outdoor sensor must be within 165 ft (50 m) of each other.
- Avoid placing units near large metallic items, thick walls, or electronic devices (TVs, microwaves, computers) to prevent wireless interference.
- The outdoor sensor should be placed in a shaded, well-ventilated area, 4 to 8 feet above the ground.
Using the Thermometer
The device records high and low temperatures. To view these records, press the arrow buttons. To reset the records, press and hold the corresponding arrow button while viewing the record; dashes will appear on the display to confirm the reset.
Troubleshooting
If the wireless signal indicator shows no bars, ensure the units are within range and away from electronic interference. If the outdoor temperature is flashing or showing dashes, bring both units indoors, remove the batteries, reinstall them, and allow the units to synchronize for 20 minutes while placed close together.
Care and Maintenance
Clean both the display unit and the outdoor sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using caustic cleaners or abrasives. Keep the display unit free of dust and dirt, and clean its ventilation ports regularly with a gentle puff of air.

Common problems
Relocate units within 165 ft (50 m), ensure they are 3 ft away from electronics, and check battery type (use lithium for cold weather).
Indicates wireless interference. Remove batteries from both units, reinstall, and let them sit together for 20 minutes to re-synchronize.
Ensure units are not in direct sunlight or near heat sources/vents.
Check battery installation or replace with fresh batteries.
Before use
- Remove protective film from the LCD screen.
- Ensure you have 4 x AA batteries (2 for display, 2 for sensor).
- Use lithium batteries for the outdoor sensor if temperatures drop below -4°F (-20°C).
- Select preferred temperature unit (°F or °C) using the button on the back of the display.
