This document provides essential instructions for setting up and maintaining your AcuRite 00510SBDI weather station. Key steps include installing batteries in both the display and the outdoor sensor, ensuring proper placement for accurate readings, and configuring time and unit preferences. The device features a 14-day Learning Mode for self-calibrating weather forecasts.
Installation and Setup
Battery Installation:

- Outdoor Sensor: Slide off the battery cover and insert 2 x AA batteries. Use lithium batteries if temperatures drop below -4°F (-20°C).
- Display Unit: Slide off the battery cover and insert 3 x AAA batteries.
- Intelli-Time Clock: The device includes a pre-installed CR2032 coin-cell battery for time settings. If replaced, you will need to re-enter the time and date.
Placement Guidelines:
- Place the display in a dry area, away from dust and dirt.
- The outdoor sensor should be placed outside, ideally 4 to 8 feet above the ground in a shaded area with good airflow.
- Keep both units within 165 feet (50 meters) of each other.
- Maintain at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) of distance from electronic devices like TVs, computers, or microwaves to avoid interference.
Settings and Operation
Press the SET button to enter setup mode. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to adjust preferences, then press SET to confirm. The sequence is: DST (ON/OFF), Time Zone, Clock Hour, Clock Minute, Calendar Month, Date, Year, Temperature Units (°F/°C), and Barometric Pressure Units (inHg/hPa). The device will exit setup mode automatically after 8 seconds of inactivity.
Calibration
You can calibrate indoor/outdoor temperature, indoor humidity, and barometric pressure. Press and hold the ▲, ▼, and SET buttons for at least 5 seconds to enter calibration mode. Use ▲ or ▼ to adjust values and SET to confirm. Note that calibrations are erased if the display is reset or batteries are removed.
Troubleshooting
- No sensor reception: Ensure units are within 165 feet, away from interference, and have fresh batteries. Synchronization may take up to 20 minutes.
- Inaccurate forecast: The Learning Mode must complete (up to 33 days) for accurate pressure and forecast data.
- Flashing temperature: Indicates wireless interference. Bring units indoors, remove batteries, and restart the connection process.
