Important information from the manual

The beamZ Pro Nuke 2 is a motorized stroboscope wash fixture designed for professional lighting applications. This manual provides essential instructions for safe installation, operation, and maintenance. Key operational requirements include ensuring proper ventilation (at least 50 cm clearance), using a safety rope for installations above 100 cm, and connecting the unit to a protected circuit with appropriate grounding. The unit is IP65 rated, making it suitable for temporary outdoor use, but it is not designed for permanent outdoor installation.

Safety instructions

• Always verify that the mains voltage and frequency match the unit's specifications before connecting.
• Do not connect the unit to a dimmer pack.
• Never look directly into the light beam.
• Ensure the unit is installed in a well-ventilated area and that ventilation slots are not blocked.
• If the unit is exposed to drastic temperature fluctuations, allow it to reach room temperature before switching it on to prevent condensation damage.
• For mounting heights over 100 cm, always secure the unit with an appropriate safety rope attached to the correct fixation points, never to the transport handles.

Rigging and installation

The unit can be placed on a stable, even surface or mounted upside down on a truss. When mounting on a truss, use certified clamps with the correct working load. Insert the quick-lock bolts of the omega brackets into the openings on the base plate and turn them clockwise until they lock. The mounting structure must be stable enough to support 10 times the weight of the unit. Always secure the unit with a safety cable.

DMX512 and RDM control

The unit supports standard DMX512 control and RDM (Remote Device Management) for bi-directional communication. When using a DMX chain, always connect the DMX output of the controller to the DMX input of the first unit, and daisy-chain subsequent units. At the last unit in the chain, you must terminate the DMX line by connecting a 120 Ohm resistor between signal (-) and signal (+) in an XLR connector.

Maintenance

The unit is virtually maintenance-free, but regular inspections are required:

• Disconnect the unit from power and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
• Check that all screws and bolts used for installation are securely tightened and free from corrosion.
• Inspect the housing, fixing points, and installation points for signs of deformation, wear, or fatigue.
• Check all electrical power and signal cables for damage.
• Clean the glass plate and housing using a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with a weak cleaning solution. Do not use aggressive products or solvents.
• Dry all connectors and contacts before re-powering.

Troubleshooting

If the unit does not respond, check that the power is on and cables are connected. If the unit resets but does not respond to the controller, verify the DMX line, controller connection, and DMX addressing. If the light output cuts out intermittently, the unit may be overheating; ensure free airflow and clean the unit if necessary.
