This RCD switched socket is designed to monitor the power supply and cut off electricity within 40 milliseconds if an earth current fault is detected, preventing fatal electric shocks. Important: Due to its latching operation, this product should not be used for outdoor power tools or garden equipment. Always perform the test procedure before inserting a plug into the socket.
Installation Instructions
Before starting, ensure the power is isolated at the consumer unit or fuse box.

- Preparation: If using a four-lug metal mounting box, remove the top and bottom lugs or bend them back. Select the entry point for cables and route them through. If using a metal box, fit a cable grommet.
- Wiring: Strip the ends of the conductors, leaving enough length to reach the terminals. Connect each wire to the matching terminal (Earth, Neutral, Live). Ensure an earth connection is made between the mounting box and the accessory.
- Finishing: Ensure only the bare end of the wire enters the terminal and no bare wires are visible. Tighten terminal screws securely without over-tightening. Position the accessory into the box, ensuring no wires are trapped, and secure with screws.
- Testing: Replace the fuse or reset the MCB, switch the power back on, and perform the test procedure.
Test Procedure
The RCD must be tested to ensure safety. The RED indicator represents ON, and the GREEN indicator represents OFF.

- Check: The RED indicator should show in the clear window. If it does not, press the orange RESET button.
- Test: Press the TEST button. The RED indicator should disappear.
- Reset: Press the RESET button again. The RED indicator should reappear, confirming the RCD is set for safe use.
- Warning: If the RCD fails any part of this test or trips continuously during use, stop using the socket immediately and seek expert advice.

Care and Maintenance
To maintain the appearance of decorative finish switches and sockets, clean the front face periodically with a soft cloth. Avoid using adhesive tape, solvents, white spirit, multi-surface cleaners, industrial multipurpose cleaning wipes, or wet wipes, as these may degrade the lacquer or plated finish.
