This document provides essential safety and operational instructions for Bosch lithium-ion batteries. Before using your battery for the first time, ensure it is fully charged in a compatible charger, as it is supplied partially charged. Always use the battery only with products from the manufacturer to prevent dangerous overload.

Safety instructions

• Do not open the battery: There is a risk of short-circuiting.
• Avoid damage: The battery can be damaged by pointed objects (e.g., nails, screwdrivers) or external force, which may cause an internal short circuit, leading to fire, smoke, explosion, or overheating.
• Prevent short circuits: Keep unused batteries away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that could bridge the terminals.
• Handle leaks carefully: If the battery is damaged or used incorrectly, flammable liquid may leak. Avoid contact. If contact occurs, rinse with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical attention.
• Protect from heat: Keep the battery away from continuous intense sunlight, fire, dirt, water, and moisture to avoid explosion and short-circuit risks.

Operating and storage conditions

• Operating/Storage Temperature: -20 °C to +50 °C. Do not leave the battery in a car during summer.
• Charging Temperature: 0 °C to +35 °C. Charging outside this range may damage the battery and increase fire risk.

Maintenance and cleaning

Occasionally clean the ventilation slots and terminals of the battery using a soft, clean, and dry brush. Do not use chemical substances for cleaning.

Transport

Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Users can transport them by road without further restrictions. When shipping via third parties (e.g., air transport or forwarding agency), special packaging and labeling requirements must be observed. Consult a hazardous material expert when preparing the item for shipment. Only ship if the housing is undamaged and tape off open contacts.

Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries with household waste. They must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner according to local regulations.
