This document provides essential operating instructions for the Bosch AL 18V-44 and AL 2x18V-88 battery chargers. These chargers are designed for Bosch Li-ion batteries and POWER FOR ALL system batteries (PBA 18V type). Ensure the mains voltage matches the charger's rating plate before use.

Charging process

The charging process starts automatically when the charger is plugged into a mains socket and a battery is inserted into the charging bay. For the AL 2x18V-88 model, both charging bays operate simultaneously and independently. Charging is only possible if the battery temperature is within the permitted range (0–45 °C).

Wall mounting

The charger can be used free-standing or mounted on a wall using round-head screws (5 mm to 6.5 mm diameter). For the AL 18V-44, drill two holes with a 56 mm clearance. For the AL 2x18V-88, drill two holes with a 168 mm clearance.

Troubleshooting

• Battery not charging, red indicator flashing: Internal error. Ensure the battery is fully inserted, unplug and replug the charger. If the error persists, contact an authorized Bosch service center.
• No indicators lighting up: Check the mains socket, power cable, and charger for defects. Verify the mains voltage.

Safety and maintenance

Use the charger only in enclosed, dry spaces. Keep the charger clean to prevent electric shock. Do not operate on flammable surfaces. If the power cord requires replacement, it must be performed by Bosch or an authorized service center to avoid safety hazards.
