The Cuisinart 1-Pint Wonder Ice Cream Maker is designed for household use to create frozen desserts. The most critical step for success is ensuring the freezer bowl is completely frozen before use. The bowl requires 16 to 24 hours in the coldest part of your freezer. Always add ingredients through the ingredient funnel while the machine is running, and do not exceed 1 1/4 cups of mixture to allow for expansion.

Before using for the first time

Remove all packaging. Wash the lid, freezer bowl, base, and mixing paddle in warm, soapy water. Do not immerse the motor drive assembly in water; wipe it clean with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

Freezing time and bowl preparation

The freezer bowl must be completely frozen to work. Place it in the back of your freezer (where it is coldest) for 16 to 24 hours. To check if it is ready, shake the bowl; if you do not hear the cooling liquid moving, it is frozen. Use the bowl immediately after removing it from the freezer, as it will begin to defrost.

Operating instructions

1. Place the freezer bowl collar on the base and insert the frozen freezer bowl.
2. Assemble the lid and motor drive assembly, then connect the mixing paddle.
3. Place the lid assembly onto the freezer bowl and twist clockwise to lock.
4. Plug in the unit and turn the switch to the ON (I) position.
5. Pour your chilled ice cream mix through the ingredient funnel. Do not fill higher than 3/4 inch from the top.
6. Churn for approximately 20 minutes.
7. When finished, turn the switch to OFF (O) and unplug.

Adding ingredients

Add mix-ins like chips or nuts about 15 minutes into the freezing process. Add up to 1/3 cup of chopped ingredients (no larger than 1/4 inch) through the ingredient funnel.

Safety feature

The unit is equipped with an automatic safety feature that stops the motor if it overheats. This may happen if the mixture is too thick or the unit runs for too long. If this occurs, turn the switch to OFF, unplug the unit, and let it cool for a few minutes before restarting.

Cleaning and storage

Clean the lid, freezer bowl, base, and mixing paddle in warm, soapy water. Do not put the freezer bowl in the dishwasher. Wipe the motor drive assembly with a damp cloth. Do not store the freezer bowl in the freezer if it is wet. Do not store the motor drive assembly or other parts in the freezer.
