Quick guide from the manual

To begin using your DigiTech Crossroads pedal, ensure you have the included PS200R power supply or a fresh 9V battery. Always turn down the volume on your amplifier or mixer before making connections to prevent loud pops or equipment damage. Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack and your amplifier or mixer to the appropriate output (OUT 1 for amps, OUT 2 for mixers). Set the LEVEL knob to the minimum position before turning on the pedal and gradually increase the volume to your desired level.

Setup and connections

Follow these steps to connect your equipment:

1. Turn the volume down on the amplifier or mixer.
2. Connect the pedal output to the amplifier or mixer input. Use OUT 1 (AMP) for guitar amplifiers or OUT 2 (MIXER) for full-range audio systems/mixers.
3. Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack.
4. Connect the power supply to the pedal.
5. Set the LEVEL control to the minimum position.
6. Turn up your amplifier or mixer level.
7. Press the pedal switch to turn on the effect and adjust the LEVEL control as needed.

Operation and knob functions

The pedal features several controls to shape your sound:

• LEVEL: Controls the output level of the effect.
• CNTRL 1: Controls different functions depending on the selected model (e.g., distortion gain, overdrive gain, or body frequency boost/cut).
• CNTRL 2: Controls different functions depending on the selected model (e.g., tone, rotary speaker modulation speed, reverb level).
• MODEL: Selects one of the seven signature Eric Clapton tones: Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads, Badge, Layla, Lay Down Sally, Layla (Unplugged), and Reptile.
• Pedal: Turns the effect on and off.

Battery replacement

To replace the battery:

1. Use the tip of a 1/4 inch guitar cable to push in the release pins on either side of the pedal.
2. Remove the pedal from the chassis.
3. Disconnect the old battery and connect a new one.
4. Ensure the battery cable does not interfere with the spring or pedal switch arm.
5. Place one hole of the pedal over its corresponding pin, push the opposite pin in, and lower the pedal into place. Release the pin to lock it.
