Firmware Update 1E1E Overview

This update (2024 Q4) is designed to enhance performance, streamline installation, and improve flexibility and compliance for the EG4 18kPV, 12kPV, and FlexBOSS21 hybrid inverters.

Key Features and Enhancements

• 512K Communication Board/MID Support: Supports operation in tandem with the MID/GridBOSS for easier and potentially cheaper installation. Requires an LCD update via USB.
• AC Coupling Dark Start: Provides backup power during blackouts or low-sun conditions without external power. Exclusive to 18kPV and 12kPV models.
• Optimized Dry Contact Logic: Allows slave units in parallel to send dry contact signals to the generator for start/stop functions.
• RGM WattNode Support: Enables the use of a WattNode as a third-party metering device. Requires an LCD update via USB.
• System Power Display: The LCD now shows total system output in kW.
• Lumin Dry Contact Options: Adds a reuse function, allowing nodes to be set to various functions beyond just generator control.

Update Instructions

To utilize features such as the 512K Communication Board support or RGM WattNode integration, users must update the inverter firmware via the LCD using a USB drive.
