Projector Features
The BrightLink 1480Fi/1485Fi offers advanced interactive functions, including annotation with or without a computer, dual-pen support, and touch-based interactivity for up to six users (Touch Unit required). It features a high-resolution 1080p projection system with up to 5000 lumens of brightness.
Setting Up the Projector
Placement: The projector can be mounted on a wall or vertically on a table. Ensure the surface is flat and smooth for finger touch operation. For high-altitude use (above 4921 feet), enable High Altitude Mode in the Installation menu.
Connections: Connect your computer or video source using HDMI, VGA, or USB. For interactive features, ensure the USB cable is connected to the appropriate port on the projector or control pad.
Network Configuration
Wired Network: Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port and configure network settings in the Network menu.
Wireless Network: Install the optional wireless LAN module. Configure wireless settings manually or use the Epson iProjection app to connect smartphones or tablets via QR code.
Screen Mirroring: Use Miracast technology to wirelessly project from mobile devices or Windows computers.
Basic Projector Features
Image Shape: Use the Keystone, Quick Corner, Arc Correction, or Point Correction settings to ensure the projected image is perfectly rectangular.
Focus: Use the focus lever on the projector to sharpen the image. Use the test pattern to assist in focusing.
Color Mode: Select from various color modes (Presentation, Dynamic, Cinema, sRGB, Blackboard, DICOM SIM, Multi-Projection) to optimize image quality for your environment.
Interactive Features
Interactive Pens: Use the blue and orange pens for annotation. Calibrate the pens upon first use to ensure accuracy.
Finger Touch: Requires the Touch Unit. Calibrate for finger touch interactivity after pen calibration.
Whiteboard Mode: Allows you to write or draw on the projection surface without a computer. You can save, print, or email whiteboard pages.
Maintenance
Cleaning: Periodically clean the lens with lens-cleaning paper and the air filter/vents to prevent overheating. Do not use canned air or flammable cleaners.
Replacing Parts: Replace air filters, pen batteries, and pen tips as needed. The laser light source is sealed and does not require user replacement.
Troubleshooting
Light Status: Check the status lights on the projector to diagnose issues. A flashing orange Temp light indicates the projector is too hot; check vents and air filters.
Common Issues: If there is no image, check the lens cap, cable connections, and power. If interactive features are not working, check battery levels and ensure no interference from bright lights or other infrared sources.
