Installation and User Guide for Fiamma Carry-Bike Mercedes Sprinter

Important Information

Before installing the Fiamma Carry-Bike, ensure your vehicle is compatible. This model is designed specifically for the Mercedes Sprinter. Crucial constraints:

• Installation is permitted only on the right rear door.
• This product is not suitable for vehicles equipped with a 270° hinge system.
• Maximum load capacity is 50 kg.
• Maximum capacity is 3 bikes.
• The rear door can be opened even with bikes mounted.

Installation

The installation requires drilling and mounting specific brackets. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Preparation: Ensure all parts are present and undamaged. Verify the rear door is solid enough to support the anchoring points.
2. Mounting Brackets: Install the mounting brackets on the right rear door as shown in the diagrams (Steps 1-5). Ensure proper alignment.
3. Frame Assembly: Assemble the main frame (A, B, C, D) and attach it to the brackets (Steps 6-12).
4. Drilling: Use the provided templates to drill necessary holes (Steps 13-15).
5. Final Assembly: Secure all screws and bolts. Ensure the rear door opens and closes correctly after tightening (Step 12).
6. Fork Adjustment: When attaching the fork to the tube, do not fully tighten; leave a 2mm space (Step 23).
7. Bike Blocks: Install the bike blocks (U1, U2, U3) to secure the bicycles (Step 25).

Usage and Safety

To ensure safety and prevent damage to your vehicle:

• Weight Distribution: Load bikes uniformly. Place the heaviest bike closest to the vehicle wall to ensure stability.
• Driving: Always be aware of the bike carrier's presence, especially when reversing. Use additional rear-view mirrors if rear visibility is limited.
• Speed: Comply with local speed limits and traffic laws.
• Bike Covers: Do not use bike covers (Bike Cover) with this model.
• Handlebars: It is recommended to rotate the handlebars of the bicycles to avoid damage to the vehicle wall.
• Accessories: Remove all loose accessories (child seats, baskets, etc.) from bikes before transport as vibrations may cause them to detach.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is required to ensure the safety of the bike carrier:

• Check the attachment of the bike carrier periodically, especially after the first few kilometers and before/after long trips.
• Inspect rubber components under the brackets and straps for signs of wear or porosity. Replace immediately if damaged.
• Ensure all bolts and screws remain tight.
