Quick Guide

The Fiamma Vent is designed for installation on camper van roofs. Before starting, ensure your roof thickness is compatible (3-5cm standard, or 5-8.5cm with the optional Extension Vent kit). The installation requires a 39x39cm square opening. Always ensure the hinges are oriented in the direction of travel. The unit must be properly sealed with butyl sealant to prevent water ingress.

Installation

Preparation: Decide on the installation location, ensuring the internal and external roof surfaces are flat and free from obstructions like luggage racks, cables, or internal cabinets.

Cutting the Opening: Create a 39x39cm square hole in the roof.

Sealing and Mounting:

  • Apply a waterproof butyl sealant to the lower part of the external frame.
  • Insert the external frame into the opening, ensuring the hinges face the direction of travel.
  • Press the frame lightly to distribute the sealant evenly.
  • Secure the external frame using 20 screws (Ø4.2x30mm UNI EN ISO 7049, not supplied).
  • Apply silicone around the perimeter of the external frame, filling any gaps between the roof and the frame, and covering the heads of the 20 screws.

Internal Frame: Insert the internal frame into the opening and secure it using 4 self-tapping screws (Ø3.5x15mm UNI EN ISO 7049, not supplied).

Safety and Usage

Operating Guidelines:

Safety do's and don'ts
Safety do's and don'ts
  • Always ensure the rooflight is properly closed before starting the vehicle.
  • Do not open the rooflight while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Do not open the rooflight during strong wind or rain.
  • It is strictly forbidden to walk on the rooflight cover.
  • Remove any accumulated snow or ice from the cover.
  • Periodically check that the cover is intact and free of cracks.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Use only neutral, non-aggressive detergents for internal and external cleaning.
  • For the Crystal cover, use an acrylic glass cleaner with a soft cloth to avoid scratching.
  • Never use aggressive products like glass cleaners, all-purpose cleaners, abrasives, dish-washing detergents, alcohol-containing detergents, solvents, or corrosive liquids.
  • The mosquito net can be cleaned with water and a neutral detergent after removing the frame and fixing screws.

Maintenance: Periodically check the tightness of all screws, especially after the first few kilometers following installation and before/after long journeys. If the opening/closing mechanism becomes stiff, lubricate it with a few drops of grease.
