Table of contents

Quick guide from the manual

The Flamma FS21 is a combined looper and drum machine pedal. Key operations include switching between modules by pressing both footswitches simultaneously, managing recording slots, and using the rhythm module for backing tracks. Ensure you use a 9V, 300mA power supply to avoid damage.

Device layout

The pedal features two main knobs (LOOPER and RHYTHM) for parameter selection, a display screen, and two footswitches. The left footswitch controls recording/dubbing and tap tempo, while the right footswitch handles playback, stop, and deletion. Connectivity includes mono inputs/outputs, an external footswitch jack, and a Micro USB port for computer connection.

First setup

  1. Connect a 9V 300mA power supply to the DC IN jack.
  2. Connect your instrument to the LEFT INPUT jack.
  3. Connect the output to your amplifier or stompbox.

Looper operation

To record, select an empty memory slot using the LOOPER knob, then press the left footswitch. The screen will display REC. Press the right footswitch to stop recording and begin playback. You can dub over existing tracks by pressing the left footswitch during playback. Hold the right footswitch for 2 seconds to undo the last track or clear all tracks when in STOP mode.

Rhythm module

The rhythm module offers 100 drum grooves across 10 styles. Use the RHYTHM knob to select grooves, adjust volume, or view BPM. Tap the left footswitch multiple times to set the tempo. You can toggle the rhythm on/off using the right footswitch.

Editor software

Connect the FS21 to a computer via USB to use the editor software for importing/exporting loop files and performing factory resets. Note that when connected to a computer, the pedal's physical buttons and footswitches are disabled.

Safety and maintenance

Clean the device only with a dry cloth. Do not install near heat sources or water. Ensure the power supply meets the 9V/300mA requirement to prevent short-circuits.

Practical help

Common problems

OUTPUT CLIPPING displayed on screen

Turn down the playback volume level.

INPUT CLIPPING displayed on screen

Buttons/footswitches not responding

Check if the device is connected to a computer via USB; the pedal is controlled by software only in this mode.

Looper and Rhythm not working normally

Ensure time signatures are consistent (e.g., do not switch from 4/4 to 3/4 while a file is recorded).

  • Ensure instrument is connected to the LEFT INPUT for mono signal.
  • Check that the device is not placed near heat sources or water.
