This document provides installation and configuration guidelines for the Focal K2 Power M series, specifically the 6.5 KM component woofer. It covers component identification, mounting procedures, wiring, and recommended active filter settings for optimal performance in an active audio system.

Installation
The 6.5 KM woofer is designed for custom automotive installations. Ensure the mounting depth of 54mm is available in your chosen location. The speaker can be mounted with or without the provided grille. Follow the mechanical drawing provided in the manual to ensure proper fitment and secure the speaker using the provided screws.

Wiring
Connect the speaker to your amplifier using the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. Ensure the wiring polarity is correct to maintain phase alignment. The system is designed for active setups, meaning each driver should be connected to a dedicated amplifier channel controlled by a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to manage the crossover frequencies.

Active filter setup
Properly configuring the active filter is critical for sound quality and speaker longevity. The following frequency ranges are suggested for the 6.5 KM model:

- 2-way system: 50Hz to 2.5kHz
- 3-way system: 50Hz to 400Hz
Ensure your DSP is configured within these ranges to prevent damage to the speaker and ensure optimal frequency reproduction.

Common problems
Ensure the active filter settings on your DSP are within the recommended frequency ranges (50Hz-2.5kHz for 2-way or 50Hz-400Hz for 3-way).
Verify that the positive (+) and negative (-) wiring from the amplifier matches the speaker terminals correctly.
Before use
- Verify the amplifier power matches the speaker's nominal power (120W RMS).
- Ensure the installation location has sufficient depth (54mm).
- Check that the active filter frequency ranges are set correctly for your specific system configuration (2-way or 3-way).
- Confirm the wiring polarity (+/-) matches the amplifier output.
- Ensure the speaker is securely mounted using the provided hardware.
Specs in practice
