Quick guide from the manual

The SILKY GROOVE SG-1C is a compressor pedal designed to provide a natural and smooth sound. It features an HTS (Holistic Tonal Solution) circuit to protect the bypassed signal. Please note that no battery is included with the package; you must provide a 9V PP3 battery or a compatible DC adapter separately.

About the product and controls

The pedal offers a range of compression effects, from heavily compressed to fast, strong tones with dry signal blending. Use the following controls to shape your sound:

  • SUSTAIN: Adjusts the depth of compression. Turning clockwise increases the compression depth.
  • ATTACK: Sets the attack of the sound. Turning counterclockwise suppresses the attack sound more strongly; turning clockwise makes the suppression weaker.
  • DRY MIX: Blends the dry signal with the effect. The leftmost position outputs only the effect sound. Turning clockwise increases the dry signal. Note that fully clockwise does not result in 100% dry signal.
  • LEVEL: Adjusts the output level when the effect is engaged.

LED indicator and battery management

The LED indicator displays the effect on/off status and also monitors battery voltage. If the battery voltage drops below approximately 6 volts, the LED will start to dim. While the pedal may continue to output sound in this state, it is recommended to replace the battery immediately to maintain full performance.

Precautions

  • Noise prevention: Always turn off your amplifier or speakers before inserting or removing a plug from the input jack to avoid damaging equipment.
  • Battery care: If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent damage from chemical leakage.
  • Malfunction: If the unit behaves abnormally, cease operation immediately and contact the supplier.
  • Low voltage symptoms: If the battery voltage is too low, the effect sound may become weak, the output level may drop, or there may be no output at all.

Main specifications

  • Input impedance: min. 500kΩ
  • Output load impedance: min. 10kΩ
  • Power supply: 9V PP3 battery or 9V DC center negative adapter
  • Current consumption: 7 mA

Practical help

Common problems

Effect sound is weak, output level drops, or no output is produced

Check the battery voltage. If the LED is dimming, the battery is likely below 6V and needs to be replaced.

Noise occurs when plugging/unplugging the unit

Ensure the amplifier or speakers are turned off before inserting or removing plugs from the input jack.

Before use

  • Prepare a 9V PP3 battery or a 9V DC center negative power adapter.
  • Ensure your amplifier or speakers are turned off before connecting the pedal.
  • Check the LED indicator; if it is dim, replace the battery before use.
  • Verify that the input and output cables are standard 1/4" phone jacks.

Specs in practice

Input impedance: min. 500kΩ
High input impedance ensures the pedal does not load down guitar pickups, preserving tone.
Current consumption: 7 mA
Very low power draw, suitable for standard battery or power supply operation.
Power supply: 9V DC center negative
Standard polarity for most guitar effects pedals.

Model compatibility

  • Requires 9V DC center negative power supply or 9V PP3 battery.
  • Compatible with standard 1/4" phone jacks for input and output.
