Quick guide from the manual
The One Control LX Tuner with BJF Buffer is a high-precision pedal tuner designed for guitarists and bassists. It combines the Korg Pitchblack Custom circuit with a switchable BJF Buffer, allowing you to choose between a buffered signal or true bypass. This tuner is designed to be reliable, accurate, and easy to read in various lighting conditions.
About the BJF Buffer
The BJF Buffer is a high-quality circuit designed by Björn Juhl. It prevents signal attenuation in your pedalboard signal chain. You can toggle the buffer on or off using the ON/OFF switch on the unit. This is particularly useful if you are using vintage-style effects, such as certain fuzz pedals, that may react negatively to buffered signals.
Display Modes
The LX Tuner offers four distinct display modes to suit your preference:
- A Mode: Standard tuning display.
- Strobe Mode: High-precision mode showing pitch changes via meter movement direction and speed.
- Half Strobe Mode: Similar to Strobe mode, optimized for easy visualization.
- Regular B Mode: A unique vertical display orientation.
Calibration
You can adjust the reference pitch (A4) to match different concert pitches. The calibration range is 436 to 445 Hz, adjustable in 1Hz steps.
Power Supply
The unit can be powered in two ways:
- DC Power: Standard 9V DC center-negative power supply.
- Battery: 9V battery. Battery life is approximately 15 hours with continuous input.

Practical help
Common problems
Use the ON/OFF switch to disable the BJF Buffer and set the tuner to true bypass mode.
Unlike clip-on tuners, the LX Tuner detects the signal directly from your instrument, eliminating interference from other instruments or PA systems.
Before use
- Ensure you have a 9V DC center-negative power supply or a fresh 9V battery.
- Check your signal chain to decide if you need the BJF Buffer enabled or disabled.
- Verify your instrument is connected to the input.
